Activity	Museum Staff: Banks was employed as a temporary Senior Scientific Officer for two years from February 1950 to January 1952 to help with the post-war rehabilitation of the ornithological collections and galleries. Formerly curator of the Sarawak Museum in Kuching, and author of at least one book on Borneo, he wrote the first version of volume 5 of Birds of the Malay Peninsula. Secretary of the British Ornithologists Union 1951-1952. In 1956 he went to North Borneo with R W Sims on a Museum expedition. Portrait Ibis 1959 pl.4.
