Activity | Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, worked as a lecturer and surgeon at St. Georges Hospital and Belgrave Hospital, London. He returned to Australia in 1875 where he became a consulting surgeon at Adelaide Hospital and helped to found the Medical School at the University of Adelaide. There was a professor of Physiology 1884 - 1900, sat on the University Council 1881 - 1919 and served as Dean of Medicine 1908 - 1919.
