ActivityHas the dinosaur fossil 'Becklespinax' named after him. This specimen had been discovered by Beckles in the Hastings Beds of East Sussex sometime in the early 1850s. He discovered in the Purbeck beds, Dorset the oldest known mammalian fossils. He was a correspondent of Charles Darwin. Fellow of the Royal Society in 1859.
