Frederick Justen supplied books and pamphlets to the British Museum and on the formation of the Natural History Museum at South Kensington he acquired and supplied the departments of Botany, Geology, Mineralogy and Zoology with useful and important works and aided Bernard Barham Woodward with acquisitions in the new General Library. His efforts were most substantial in the Botany Department, where under the direction of William Curruthers, he brought together one of the finest collections of Botanical scientific literature and was instrumental in procuring Dr Welwitch's collection of dried plants from Africa |
