Activity	Museum staff: Usher joined the Museum as a Boy Attendant in the Department of Zoology in 1908 aged 15. In 1921 he was appointed clerical officer in the Zoological Department and in 1946 Experimental Officer. He remained on the Bird Section staff until his retirement in August 1953. His name is on the Roll of Honour board in the entrance hall at South Kensington as having served away in the First World War. After his retirement he worked on indexing of Ibis and Bulletin of the British Ornithologists' Club.
