| Activity | Museum Staff: Born 4 October 1930. Educated at Roan Grammar School, London, until 1948. Appointed Department of Geology, as Temporary Assistant 1948. National Service Aug 1949-Sep 1951 as a Sergeant in the Royal Army Education Corp, his role was as a conservator of classical antiquities in Tripolitania North Africa. Assistant Scientific in Palaeo Library from July 1959; Senior Assistant (previously named Assistant Experimental Officer) from May 1960 until his resignation to go to Yale University for a Librarian post June 1963
