ActivityMuseum Staff: Appointed Boy Attendant in Department of Entomology 1920; Attendant 1923. Transferred to Department of Zoology 1930. Head of the Zoological Library 1937-1966. From January to November 1941 he worked at Tring Museum to look after books evacuated from South Kensington to produce a catalogue of the natural history library of the late Lionel Walter Rothschild and to relieve the Tring librarian Phyllis Thomas to allow her to do more curation of bird types, etc. In November 1941 he went to the Admiralty (Thackray). In 1948 he compiled a typescript list of the books in the Rothschild Library at Tring. Retired 1966, but contintued to work in libraries for some years afterwards. Awarded MBE in 1964.
