Activity | Born in 1905, studied at the University of Durham, trained in tropical entomology at Imperial College London, then spent a year at Imperial College in the West Indies. In 1930 he was appointed government entomologist to the British Solomon Islands Protectorate and in the course of his work made entomological collections for the British Museum (Natural History), presented in 1930. Later colonial postings included Fiji from 1937 and Malaya. In 2006 the British Museum purchased his personal papers, including diaries, photographs, autobiographical typescript and maps relating mainly to Solomon Islands and Fiji. |
