DescriptionCommittee correspondence regarding the protection of wild birds (game birds excluded) from shooting for sport/ egg collecting.

Predominantly between Sir Ernest Holderness of the Home Office and Dr Percy Lowe of the Museum and on behalf of the Wild Birds Advisory Committee. Requests or petitions being made by Counties to Holderness, with Holderness then seeking the comments and opinion of Lowe. In the mid 1930s, Holderness is replaced by WH Coles and then by AJ Adams at the Home Office.

Some correspondence includes copies of Orders and attachments from 'experts', both for and against amendments, particularly with regards to seabirds and other bird 'pests'.
