| Description | First volume of the new books of loans forms. A note pasted to the inside front cover from J. G. Sheals, Keeper of Zoology, to Heads of Sections, explains the new books and how they should be used. The loan books are to be used by all Sections, except mammals and the sub-department of Ornithology. There are two books, one labelled 'Types' and one labelled 'Non-Types'. The 'Types' book should be used for loans of material for which extensions beyond the initial period of six months require Trustees' approval. Usually such loans comprise Holotypes, Lectotypes and Neotypes. |
