Two notes written by L E Parsons whilst he was working at the Museum during World War I. One note is dated 28 Nov 1916 and details work done by L E Parsons and J Robinson on refixing a cabinet on a day German planes dropped bombs on the Brompton Road. The other note is dated 20 Apr 1917 and details news of what was happening during the War that day.
Treasury circulars and memorandums on calling men up for national service and possible closure of the museum, with responses.
Volume 'The War 1914 - Proposed appropriation of the Museum' dated 19 December 1917 to 5 February 1918. Collection of press cuttings, copies of letters from NHM staff and other institutions about 'resisting a proposal to requisition a large part of the Natural History Museum for the accommodation of an administrative Department of the Government' and parliamentary reports. The volume was probably created by a staff member, possibly the Assistant Secretary Charles Edward Fagan.
