Title	Catalogues of Publications and Retail Items
Description	The series contains all the lists and catalogues of its own publications produced by the Museum. They cover books and leaflets (DF510/1-38), Bulletin of the British Museum (Natural History) issues (DF510/39-58) and postcards (DF510/59-68). The 1934 booklist (DF510/1) gives a complete list of the Museum's publications up to 1934; all other catalogues list only in-print material. DF510/77 lists retail items sold in the Museum shop which includes published works, but is not exclusive to.

AdminHistory	Departments were responsible for their own publications, with the Director as coordinator, until 1954 when Richard J Drumm was appointed Museum Publications Officer to coordinate planning and production. A Publications Section evolved within the Directorate over the years until, by 1975, all publications planning and production was carried out centrally.
