| Description | At the request of George V, the presentation of a group of Spanish ibex by King Alfonso of Spain in July 1927 was kept informal. The ceremony took place at noon in the Central Hall, where a Spanish flag had been draped over the large case containing three specimens of Capra pyrenaica Victoriae, named after the Queen of Spain. For the unveiling, the flag was drawn up into a canopy by means of a pulley, thus revealing the specimens arranged in their natural rocky surroundings, which had taken Luis Benedito, of the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales in Madrid, four months to complete.
