Some notes on fossil reptiles by George Waterhouse are also held in the Palaeontology Manuscripts, where there is also a large collection of the papers of Arthur Smith Woodward.

AdminHistory	During this period staff numbers were small, and responsibilities were broad. Although a number of the staff had well-developed specialities, the department was not subdivided into sections. Henry Woodward, for example, although a specialist on fossil arthropods, published on many vertebrate and invertebrate groups.
