Description | This series contains material from a variety of sources relating to the department's scientific and popular publications. Original artwork, both coloured and black and white, corrected proofs and typescripts are included, as well as correspondence and memoranda relating to the production, sale and revision of the various items. The series contains little, if any, scientific correspondence. |
AdminHistory | Departments were responsible for their own publications until 1954, when Richard J Drumm was appointed Museum Publications Officer to coordinate planning and production. A Publications Section evolved over the years until by 1975, all aspects of planning and production for publications was centralised. |
