| Description | Papers in this series were gathered from different parts of the Department at the time the archive was first listed. Some files came from the Keeper's office (DF12/3, 6, 9, 14, 15, 21-22), some probably came from among the collection notes in the petrology and mineralogy sections (DF12/1, 2, 11, 16), while others may well have been taken from the working papers of the scientists concerned (DF12/4, 19, 20).
In subject matter all files relate to the display of specimens in the Mineral Gallery, or to temporary displays in other parts of the Museum. Some files list and show layouts of the specimens themselves, while others provide details of accessory materials such as photographs or text labels. |
