| Description | This series contains the surviving financial records of the General Library from 1883 until 1947, and for all the Museum's libraries thereafter. The only records to have been systematically preserved are the binding invoices, which survive complete from 1883 unto 1957, together with the two accounts ledgers, which give an overview of spending from 1927 to 1964. Book purchase orders for 1950-1971 are preserved on microfilm, and invoice lists for 1970-1971. |
