'The International Artists’ Research Residenc programme at the Natural History Museum in partnership with Gasworks, LondonWe are currently curating a three-year residence programme at the Museum. This is the first time that we can make such an offer, providing both, research and practice spaces. The focusof the researchis our world-class science illustration collection, particularly the collections from China, Australia, and India. Emerging artists are invited to create a new body of work based on their research, and for commission to be displayed in the newly opened Images of Nature Gallery at the Museum.The programme is run in partnership with Gasworks. Together we aim to promote the diversity of cultures and practices within the arts and sciences, and bring fresh and critical perspectives to the Museum’s collections.Through the eyes of contemporary artists we can conceptualize political, economical, and social questions as related to the collections from today’s perspective.'
