| Description | Bruce Gernand was placed in the Palaeontology Department, collaborating with Professor Norman MacLeod, Keeper of Paleontology on his project, Choded Chimera. Inspired by the transformational grids of biologist Professor Sir D’Arcy Thompson – which explored the degree to which differences in the forms of related animals could be described by mathematical transformations -Gernand used scans of animal specimens and new software tools to blend digital meshes of different species, developing new sculptural forms. His sculptures were then exhibited at the Cambridge Museum of Zoology
