| Description | A tiny envelope containing a letter from Miss Bertha Newcombe was added to this file in 2023, having been found with specimens of Tuberculaphis Violae during digitisation work. Miss Bertha Newcombe was an artist and women’s suffrage activist. Her father had a significant natural history collection in Chelsea, which he gave to London County Council. Bertha collected these specimens in 1929 from Redlynch, Tilmore, Petersfield, Hampshire. |
