These tigers carried out old-fashioned circus tricks in a show at Ohio’s Crawford Country Fair.
Their owner – a third-generation tiger trainer – made the animals walk high wires, leap in unison and jump through fire hoops. Although performing tigers remain an integral part of many traditional circuses, there has been a growing backlash against this practice in the USA.

USA
Steve is a wildlife photojournalist, producing stories for National Geographic Magazine and other media outlets for decades. He’s known for capturing previously unseen images of endangered and elusive species, including tigers in Asia, jaguars in the Brazilian Pantanal, leopards in Mumbai and snow leopards in the Himalayas. His photographs of the cougar P-22 in Los Angeles helped create what will be the world’s largest wildlife corridor over the 101 Freeway. For the last decade, he’s lectured internationally for the National Geographic Live series.
