Many orang-utans that sought refuge from the devastation of the forest fires in 2015 came faceto face with poachers.
Mothers were killed to get their babies and sell them as pets. Dr Ayu, a vet from International Animal Rescue, in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, retrieved this infant that was being kept illegally as a pet. Her mouth is covered to prevent passing on any disease to the vulnerable baby.
