Lars sprawled on the clifftop with his camera on the ground, so as not to disturb the birds and to pick up the golden reflection of the late afternoon Sun on the sea. Concentrating on one couple, Lars defocused his lens just enough to capture a romantic impression of their pairing.
A large colony of common guillemots makes up some of the thousands of breeding seabirds on the small, uninhabited island of Hornøya. Returning to the same partner each year, the courting couples display to each other before the female lays a single egg directly onto a cliff ledge – its conical shape stops it rolling off.

Lars Andreas has worked with abstract expressions for many years. He has held several solo exhibitions and has exhibited in Europe, Australia and the United States. In Norway he is represented by Gallery SG. He has also won several awards at home and abroad, and regularly hosts workshops.
