While on a morning jog in a fruit orchard, Kim spotted an oriole nest high up in a mango tree. After 10 days keeping watch, she saw that the two partially fledged chicks had finally emerged. Returning with a tent to hide in and a camera, she waited for this perfect composition.

A common sight in Asian city gardens, black-naped orioles forage through the canopy looking for berries and insects. Both males and females take care of their young. These youngsters will have spent two to three weeks in the nest and can look forward to another couple of weeks of tasty treats provided by their parents.
