Lasse was particularly excited to get this shot, which was taken from a hide in a remote forest near Kajaani, Finland, about six hours drive from his home.
His father woke him at 4.30am that August morning to start watching for wolverines. Lured by bait, a number had been around the hide all that night. Now there were also ravens, sparrowhawks and magpies, and so no shortage of subjects to photograph. But the most memorable moment was watching this wolverine slowly stalking along a branch, intent on getting rid of the magpie. 'The bird turned its head just as I took this picture,' says Lasse, 'and gave me my best-ever wolverine shot.'
