Dream trees

Kevin Barry's Image

Kevin's original idea on a trip to south Florida's Big Cypress National Preserve had been to take landscape shots.

When he got there, though, he was seduced by his favourite trees, pond cypresses. 'I came upon this beautiful grouping and decided to experiment with multiple exposures to try to capture the effect of being in among them,' says Kevin. Key to the effect was orienting the cypresses in the centre of the shot so that they appeared to recede. All that remained was to convert the image to black and white and adjust the exposure a little.
