It was an overcast, drizzly summer day, but the mountain slopes near Malbun, Liechtenstein, were covered with flowers, and the lack of bright light was perfect for photography.
Having found a particularly lovely clump of trumpet gentians, Edwin knelt down to take a closer look. 'As I peered into the flower, I saw several ants inside - a secret world you would never know existed until you look closely.' He spent some time trying to get the ants in focus, his task made more difficult because of the short depth of field and poor light conditions. Eventually, though, he decided on an abstract image. 'I love the way the ants seem to peer out at the world through a tiny little window.'
