Learning Volunteers programme at Tring

Showing specimen to child

Discover more about the natural world by interacting with visitors in the Museum's specimen-rich galleries.

You will use real specimens in our handling collection, from animal skulls to insects, to share your knowledge with school groups and the public through hands-on interactions.

The programme includes training on how to engage with visitors and handle specimens.

You need to be aged 18 or over and have a desire to share your passion for natural history. The learning volunteer days reflect our busy times during the weekend and school bookings during the week - therefore flexible availability is desired. To get the most out of the programme, we recommend volunteers join us for a minimum of six months.
