Natural History Museum Ice Rink

Day time skate against the backdrop of Hintze Hall

All sessions are now wheelchair accessible with a maximum of 10 wheelchair users per session.

We also offer exclusive skate sessions for wheelchair users and those with additional needs throughout the season.

These are available on:

  • Tuesday 2 November - 21.00
  • Sunday 28 November - 09.00
  • Monday 6 December - 15.00
  • Thursday 6 January - 10.00

Wheelchair users must pay for their ticket, and up to two carers can go for free. Family and friends pay normal prices.

Accessible wheelchair users on the ice must be in control and skating within their own ability. A disability personal assistant should be present and assisting any accessible user where appropriate on the ice.

Motorised wheelchairs with the motor engaged are not permitted on ice. The NHM Ice Rink is not able to supply any wheelchair to be used on the ice rink.

    To the Ice Rink

    To get to the Ice Rink from street level, you can use the ramp from the corner of Exhibition Road and Cromwell Road, or the ramp near the main Museum entrance on Cromwell Road.

    You can also reach the Ice Rink using the stairs from the underground tunnel that links the Museum to South Kensington Underground Station, but there is no ramp from the underground tunnel to the Ice Rink.

    There is a lift to the Café Bar and viewing platform from ground level.

    Ice skating inevitably comes with some risks and we want to minimise any such risks to skaters. To help you skate safely, please make sure you read the advice and tips that are displayed at the Ice Rink when you arrive.
