A school-trip to the Museum, a family holiday camping in the countryside or a desire to draw and observe animals. For many of our scientists, their interest in natural history was first ignited at an early age. From digging for fossils in gardens to collecting butterflies on the way to Sunday school, each have their own personal memories of what first engaged them in scientific study.
