This name is not superfluous because Linnaeus did not include in the protologue all of the cited elements from the earlier var. angustifolia (1755). Romero Zarco (in Anales Jard. Bot. Madrid 56: 179. 1998) proposed a different lectotype, presumably in ignorance of Lassen's earlier choice. |
