Diagnostic Features
  • Test shape globular; plating strongly imbricate.
  • Apical disc unknown.
  • Ambulacra straight and multiserial; multiple aligned rows and columns of small hexagonal plates, up to ?8 columns. Ambulacral plates imbricating orally, each with a small pore-pair. No tubercles.
  • Interambulacral zones narrower than ambulacral zones; composed of 3-4 strongly imbricate columns of rhomboidal plates.
  • Interambulacral plates with fine granulation only.
  • Lantern present, structure unknown.

Stem group Echinoidea; Lepidesthidae.

Monotypic; subjective junior synonym of Lepidesthes Meek & Worthen,1868.

Remarks

Similar in all details to Lepidesthes.
