Type	Pericosmus malatinus Mazzetti, 1885, p. 13, by original designation
Species Included	Dictyaster excentricus Stefanini was included tentatively by Lambert & Thiery (1925, p. 486) as probably synonymous with the type species.
Classification and/or Status	Spatangoida indet.,
Remarks	Lambert (1920) assumed that there were no fascioles, but, as pointed out by Mortensen (1951, p. 82) the presence or absence of fascioles is really indeterminable.
