Diagnostic Features Distinguished from E. metularia by having its apical disc covered in fine tubercles (it is tubercle-free in E. metularia).  Distinguished from E. tribuloides and E. thouarsii by its short, stubby, club-like spines.
Distribution Recent, mid-Atlantic (St Helena and Ascension Islands; 0-100 m.
