Catoproctus Lambert, 1932, p. 147

Diagnostic Features A giant species of Hemiaster characterized by its posterior face almost absent, the very low position of its periproct and its very long petals according to Lambert (1932, p. 147)
Distribution Senonian, Upper Cretaceous, of Tunisia.
Name gender masculine
Type Hemiaster enormis Thomas & Gauthier, 1889, by original designation.
Species Included Only the type species.
Classification and/or Status Indeterminate spatangoid,  possibly not even a hemiasterid. Treated as a subgenus of Hemiaster by Lambert (1932).
