Eupatagus patellaris d'Archiac & Haime, 1853, p. 217

Diagnostic Features Test very flat, sub-oval, slightly elongate. Upper surface very slightly convex. Very small apical disc. Ambulacral petals are wide, relatively straight, closed externally, long, very slightly curved. Lateral ambulacral areas are larger than those in the posterior.
Distribution Eocene. Chaine d'Hala, Sind, Pakistan.
Type Holotype Natural History Museum E78555.
Classification and/or Status Species of Eupatagus.
Remarks Spatangus planulatus (Lamarck) only differs from E. patellaris in its flatter form, smaller and more unequal petals, and straighter ambulacra. E. patellaris is separate from all other species of Eupatagus by its very flat form. (d'Archiac & Haime, 1853, p. 217)
