Family Conulidae Lambert, 1911, p. 27

[ex Conulusidae Lambert, 1911; =Neoglobatoridae Endelman, 1980, p. 96]

Clade of Echinoneoida with:

  • apical disc tetrabasal;
  • ambulacral plating pyrinoid (i.e. with every third element small and confined to the adradial margin) adorally or throughout;
  • pore-pairs offset in triads adorally.
Upper Jurassic (Oxfordian) to Lower Eocene, Europe, Russia, Central Asia, North Africa, Pakistan, Tibet.

This is easily distinguished from Galeritidae by its pore-pairs being offset in triads towards the peristome. Echinoneidae differs in having strictly uniserial pore-pairs and a large, asymmetric periproct.
