Fletcher (1979) stated:-
In addition to H. tripunctaria, Gumppenberg also included Halia marcescaria Guenée, 1857 in Elpiste, but wrongly attributed the authorship to Packard. H. marcescaria was however, only doubtfully included, for its diagnosis was followed by a foot-note stating `I am not certain, without having seen the species, whether it belongs to Godonela, where it appears to fit on account of the characteristic maculation behind the middle of the wing'.
Under Article 68(c) of the Code, doubtfully included species are not eligible for selection as type-species.
H. tripunctaria is a junior subjective synonym of Tephrina lorquinaria Guenée, 1857, in Boisduval & Guenée, Hist. nat. Insectes (Spec. gén. Lépid.) 10: 101.
