Fletcher (1979) stated:-

D. breviataria was proposed by Hübner as the objective replacement name for Phalaena amata Cramer, 1779, Uitlandsche Kapellen (Papillons exot.) 3: 62, pl.228, fig.F., a junior primary homonym of Phalaena amata Linnaeus, 1758, Syst. Nat. (Edn. 10) 1: 524 - Lepid. Geometridae.

Parsons et al. (1999) included 22 species in the genus DYSPTERIS.
