Fletcher (1979) stated:-

This genus was originally proposed in the Geometrinae, but was transferred to the Sterrhinae by Prout, 1912, in Wytsman, Genera Insect. 129: 249.

Parsons et al. (1999) included EUTHYSANA Warren, 1907; MNESITHETIS Swinhoe, 1900; NEOSTERRHA Warren, 1900; and PSEUDACIDALIA Sterneck, 1927 as junior synonymys of DITHECODES Warren, 1900.

Parsons et al. (1999) included 19 species and 2 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus DITHECODES.
