Notes:
Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:-

Desmidocnemis was attributed to Hampson (an incorrect authorship) by Zerny, 1912, in Wagner, Lepid. Cat. 7: 106; and by Neave, 1939, Nomencl. zool. 2: 49. Some confusion has resulted from Hampson, 1905, Ann. Mag. nat. Hist. (7) 15: 429, who stated `Page 363. Desmidocnemis rename Hyalomis, n. n., the former being a synonym of Herea and Prittwitzi = xanthogaster' Druce, 1898. Hampson was not, however, proposing Hyalomis as a replacement name for Desmidocnemis but was establishing a new genus for species placed incorrectly in Desmidocnemis Möschler, in Hampson, 1898, Cat. Lepid. Phalaenae Br. Mus. 1: 363.
