Nye (1975) stated:-

C. olivina was figured and given only a specific name in (1851) vol. 2. In (1852) vol. 6 olivina was associated with its generic name and become nomenclaturally available. The dates of publication are taken from the original wrappers.

Poole (1989) included 6 species in the genus COPIPHANA.
