Hemming (1967) stated:-
This name was published by Doubleday in the synonymy of Anartia Hübner, as "Celaena Boisd. MSS." Under Article II (d) of the present revised Code names published in synonymies possess no status of availability. The name Celaena Doubleday, is therefore invalid.
Even if this generic name had been duly published by Doubleday, it would have been invalid under the Law of Homonymy as a junior homonym of Celaena Stephens, 1829 (Nom. Brit. Ins. : 41).
Cowan (1970: 26) stated:-
"CELAENA" Doubleday, : 214, 216. Not available.
Introduced as "Boisd. ms." in the synonymy of Anartia Hübner, given four included species. Never raised from synonymy.
The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
