Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:-

Phalaena lemnata was established among the Geometridae, where the Linnaean species-group names ended with `aria' or `ata'; when it was transferred to the Pyralidae the ending was emended unjustifiably under the Code, Article 32(a)(ii), to 'alis' in the combination Pyralis lemnalis (Denis & Schiffmüller), 1775 Ankündung syst. Werkes Schmett Wienergegend: 121 footnote, 123.
