Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:-

Under Article 13(a)(i)(ii) of the Code genus-group names published after 1930 must be accompanied by a statement that purports to give characters differentiating the taxon or accompanied by a definite bibliographic reference to such a statement; * Bustilloxia Expósito, 1978, does not satisfy those provisions and is therefore unavailable.

Parsons et al. (1999) included only 1 species and 2 subspecies (inc. nominate) in the genus BUSTILLOXIA and placed the genus in the GEOMETRINAE.
