Nye (1975) stated:-

Briarda was the spelling used in the Key to Genera on page 1079, and for three new species on pages 1098-1099; * Briada, used as the heading, was an inadvertent error. Walker himself continued to use Briarda, e.g. 1865, ibidem 33: 894.
