Notes:
Poole (1989) included BLENINA in the subfamily NOCTUIDAE: SARROTHRIPINAE, which are included as a tribe within the NOLIDAE: CHLOEPHORINAE by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999) However, BLENINAE are listed by Kitching & Rawlins (1999) as a valid subfamily presumably based on BLENINA.

Poole (1989) included ELIOCROEA Walker, 1865; and AMRELLA Moore, 1882 as junior synonyms of BLENINA Walker, 1858.

Poole (1989) included 35 species in the genus BLENINA.
