Fletcher (1979) stated:-

Warren's original designation of Acidalia inexactata Walker, 1861, as type-species of Bithiodes was based on misidentified specimens; after studying Walker's type specimen in the University Museum Oxford, Warren found his specimens to be Luxaria obliquata Moore, 1888 and he published a corrected type-species designation in 1899, Novit. zool. 6: 354.

See Frontispiece 2, fig.12, Luxiaria obliquata Moore, syntype female.

Under Article 70(a) of the Code, the case of a misidentified type-species should be referred to the Commission.

Parsons et al. (1999) included BITHIODES Warren, 1894; EUIPPE Meyrick, 1886; HYPOCHARIESSA Turner, 1947; IDIOTEPHRA Warren, 1899 as junior synonyms of LUXIARIA Walker, 1860 [March 10].
