Fletcher (1979) stated:-

A. scintillata is a junior subjective synonym of Drepana argenteola Moore, [1860] 1858-59, in Horsfield & Moore, Cat. lepid. Insects Mus. nat. Hist. Hon. East-India Company 2: 369. (In volume 2, the title of the work was printed as Cat. lepid. Insects Mus. nat. Hist. East-India House).

This genus was originally proposed in the Geometridae, but has since been transferred to the Drepanidae; its first published use in this family appears to have been by Kirby, 1892, Synonymic Cat. Lepid. Heterocera 1: 730.
