A junior homonym of Atossa Thomson, 1864, Syst. Cerambycidarum: 100 - Coleoptera. The objective replacement name is Epicasis Meyrick, 1885. Atossa was again proposed by Meyrick, 1884, Trans. N.Z. Inst. 16: 103.
